Starkey Properties sponsored John Gowdy who placed 3rd place in the masters solo competition with his sculpture entitled "Nightmare". John is from Italy and has been competing for several years at the Texas Sandfest.

Starkey Properties has sponsored mastor sculptor Fred Mallet for many years. For 2010, Fred sculpted several pieces for the photo-op booth. Many visitors had pictures taken with the sculptures after Fred carved their names into them.
